Frequently Asked Questions
Is spreadsim free to use?
Yes. Game predictions (spreads, moneylines, player props, totals), matchup splits, simulated ranges of outcomes, team and player pages, news, and standings are all free with no login required. A free account additionally unlocks a personal pick tracker. A paid Supporter tier ($6.99-$9.99/mo) adds CSV data export, unlimited multi-game parlay generation, and community features.
How accurate are spreadsim's predictions?
The model is backtested against every completed game already in the database, using only the information it would have actually had before kickoff -- not hindsight. Current accuracy numbers and a full calibration breakdown are published on the Methodology page and updated as more games are played.
How often are predictions updated?
Automatically, every 6 hours -- new rosters, injuries, and box scores are ingested and every prediction is recomputed on that cadence.
What sports does spreadsim cover?
NFL and NCAA (college) football.
Does spreadsim show real sportsbook odds?
Yes -- real, live market odds from multiple real sportsbooks, shown side by side and graded against the model's own predicted probability: green means better value than the model expects, red means worse. It is comparison data, not a ranked "best odds" tool.
Is spreadsim affiliated with a sportsbook, or does it get paid when I bet?
No. spreadsim is not a sportsbook affiliate, does not rank books by "best odds," and is not compensated based on where or whether a user places a bet. Odds are shown purely for comparison against the model's own numbers.
How are the predictions calculated?
A rating system built from historical team and player performance, adjusted for real matchup-level splits, feeding a Monte Carlo simulation that runs thousands of correlated simulated outcomes per game -- producing a full range of likely results, not just a single guessed score. Full detail is on the Methodology page.
Is spreadsim gambling advice?
No. Everything on spreadsim is for informational and entertainment purposes only, not gambling advice. If gambling is a problem, call or text 1-800-MY-RESET.
